On getting a boob job at age 30:

So when I was 30, I was getting a divorce [from actor Ben Indra], I had just finished House Bunny, and I’d sold another movie, all of these new things were happening to me, so I got my breasts done. It was f***ing awesome. I never, ever thought I’d do something like that. [I] always thought plastic surgery was caving in to “the man,” you know? But it came down to a really simple thing: I wanted to fill out a bikini.

I’m still floored that I did it, because I am a staunch feminist. I kept thinking, am I betraying my own gender by doing this? But people should be able to do whatever they want, whether it’s getting braces, bleaching their hair, getting extensions, getting a boob job, getting vaginal surgery, or getting a nose job.

… says 41 year-old Anna.

  1. But people should be able to do whatever they want, whether it’s getting braces, bleaching their hair, getting extensions, getting a boob job, getting [genital] surgery, or getting a nose job.

    >funny how men barely ever even think of getting those things, aye?

    • Well, her quote is about women doing what THEY THEMSELVES want, not what men think, so I would say she’s right on point with her message.

    • Wonder what life would be like if the time women spent worrying about how they filled out a bikini they spent on productive things. She “filled out” a bikini just fine before.

I dont know if it’s plastic surgeons who pay for this, but I feel like “Women’s Health” (LOL.. health) put out an article exactly like this every year to promote implants. Kaley Cuoco did one a few years back, and so did Kelly Rowlands..

  2. I agree with her sentiment, but I think her boobs were perfectly fine before. I luckily got used to mine being the way they are in my 20s and wouldn’t change them. I think I’ll get used to them being a bit saggy when I age, and that’s fine, too.
I can’t believe she was 30 in HB.

  3. Good for her! I got a nose job done, and I wish I’d done it earlier… if something about your body takes worry-energies away, just pay for it to make it disappear. It saved me tons of life energies to not be self-conscious about my long nose anymore, people still think I am the same person.
I am sure some will say those are “1st world problems”, but everybodys story is different, so I don’t judge others by their choice to modify their bodies.

  4. And why is it so important to “fill out a bikini”? Because society tells us that it is important for women to have large/well defined breasts?

    • exactly, its not like that desire occurred to her on her own out of nowhere…

yes, people can do whatever they want, that’s the privilege of leaving in a free country. however that doesn’t mean that others can’t point out their questionable motives for doing “what they want”. Most things that people think they want, they only want because society tells them to want it.

  5. You go girl! After I got my empowering boob job, I figured my nose needed empowering too so I got a nose job. I was also empowered when my boyfriend told me that my natural vulva was gross because it doesn’t look like a porn star’s, and then I became double empowered when I got the labiaplasty. After the latest issue of Cosmo was done negging me, I found out that I could be even more empowered by dying my grays and spending hundreds of dollars on shoes. I’m thousands of dollars in debt and still have no self esteem, but all of this was my choice and don’t you know that you’re the real misogynists for pointing this out feminists????

  6. I don’t think she needed them. But I honestly thought in house bunny she just had on a really good push up bra the whole time. So that means they were fake all along? Wow interesting.

  7. It’s nice to read this as someone who sometimes wants to have her before chest. In everyday life I want smaller boobs so I could wear a variety of cute clothes without my boobs protruding through and just look more dainty overall. However at least I can fill out a bikini and look like a playboy bunny/beach model in a bikini, people even ask if they’re fake. Her message is dumb though, we shouldn’t be wanting plastic surgery on our vagina or nose to be “happy”. That’s obviously for men, at least getting vaginaplasty. No girl looks at her vagina to decide if she’s “good enough” until a man makes her wonder.
